1318223 Organotin compounds TENNECO CHEMICALS Inc 8 Dec 1970 58282/70 Heading C2J [Also in Division C3] An organotin compound of the formula in which R is an alkyl group of 4 to 8 carbon atoms or a phenyl group, one X is a halogen atom and the other X is a hydrogen or halogen atom, is prepared by reacting a phenol of the formula or the alkali metal salt thereof with a compound in which Y is a hydroxyl group, or is a chlorine atom when the alkali metal salt of the phenol is used. Tri-n-butyl (2-cyano-4,6-dichlorophenoxy)tin is prepared in Example 1.
