Abstract

1317057 Angular bending T HITOSUGI 18 June 1970 29558/70 Heading B3E An automatic bending press comprises a pair of male dies 211, 2111 movable towards and away from each other, a pair of female dies 17<SP>11</SP>, 17<SP>111</SP> movable in the same directions as the male dies, a vertically movable table 13 having a bolster 15 on which the female dies are mounted, and an unloader 19 having suction discs movable on to a formed workpiece to remove it from the press. In operation limit switches 12 are moved to a predetermined position so that, on rotating threaded rods 7, 71, the male dies 211, 2<SP>111</SP> are moved towards each other until they reach the position predetermined by the limit switches. The workpiece to be bent is placed on a bolster 18 and the table 13 is raised so as to bring the workpiece into contact with the male dies. When the workpiece has been deformed into a U-shape, lateral thrust cylinders 16 move the female dies inwardly to fold the opposed longitudinal edges of the U-shaped workpiece. On completion of the bending operation the dies 2<SP>11</SP>, 2<SP>111</SP> are again moved towards each other and the table 13 is then lowered. The unloader 19 moves its arm so that the suction discs are lowered on to the bent workpiece which has been ejected by actuating cylinders 22. The workpiece is then moved by the arm 21 on to a conveyer 24.
