Abstract

1316780 Catheter assemblies ETAB PUBLIC AGENCE NATIONALE DE VALORISATION DE LA RECHERCHE 16 June 1970 [20 June 1969] 29172/70 Heading ASR A catheter assembly, for the simultaneous introduction into a living organism of a fluid medicine and a fluid medium such as a serum, comprises a junction 13 connecting a pipe 1 to a tube 3 and a pipe 2 to a tube 16, each tube 3, 16 having an axial outlet at the end removed from junction 13, and a chamber 18 in tube 16 for mixing the two fluids and introducing them axially into the organism through the outlet of tube 16. The tube, pipes and junction are interconnected by disconnectable screw and nut type connectors 4, 12, 14, 15. In use, pipe 1 is connected to an electric perfuser supplying medicinal liquid at a constant flow-rate, pipe 2 being supplied with serum. Tube 3 may have an outside diameter of 1mm., tube 16 a length of about 90cm, and chamber 18 a length of 1.5cm and a volume of less than 0.03 ml.
