1316606 Pesticidal water-in-oil emulsions WITCO CHEMICAL CORP 15 May 1970 [7 July 1969] 23674/70 Heading A5E [Also in Division C5] A pesticidal or herbicidal composition comprises chlordane, aldrin, dieldrin, lindane, heptachlor, toxaphene, dibromochloropropane, 2- ethylhexyl-2, 4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid ester or an organic thiocyanate in a water-inoil emulsion comprising a continuous oleaginous phase, a dispersed aqueous phase and, as sole emulsifying agent, a mono and/or diester of a C 12 -C 22 aliphtic monocarboxylic acid with an adduct of a C 3 -C 12 aliphatic polyhydric alcohol (3-6 OH groups) and ethylene oxide (0.3-1.5 moles per OH group). The emulsifying agent is 3-20wt% of the oil.
