Abstract

131,648. Levasseur, P. March 16, 1918, [Convention date]. Screw propellers.-Comprises an aerial propeller in which the blades are inclined slightly in the direction of the resultant of the strains due to the centrifugal force and the air pressure on the blades, so that the said pressure may be wholly or partially eliminated by the resultant action of the centrifugal forces acting upon the parts of each blade, for the purpose of relieving the blades of any deflexion strain at their roots. Three modifications are shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 4, the method of connecting the blades to the hub being shown in Figs. 1 and 2.
