Abstract
1316352 Model railway control NORTHMORE & PARTNERS Ltd 9 Aug 1971 [12 May 1970] 22780/70 Heading B7N In a track circuit control system for a model railway having a continuous negative rail and a positive rail formed of insulated sections which, with the exception of "stop" sections, are connected via low value resistors to the positive traction supply, a solid state control module is associated with each "stop" section and is controlled by pulses developed across the resistors as a train enters the sections. Assume in the control module multivibrator that transistor TR2 is off then via transistor amplifier TR3 the transistor TR4 is driven to saturation and a train in stop area A is energized. During its movement in the direction of the arrow the train first produces a "stop" pulse to switch the module to its "off" state so that a subsequent train is stopped at areaA; then generates a "go" pulse for the preceding module and eventually after release from stop area B produces a "go" pulse which switches the module to "go" so that the subsequent train can leave stop area A.
