Abstract

1314959 Mill drums DOMINION ENG WORKS Ltd 15 March 1972 [5 April 1971] 12072/72 Heading B2A To facilitate transport to a site, the end walls 24, 26 of a ball or autogenous mill are formed by a series of plates 28 bolted together to form frusto cones. The smaller diameter portion of each crusto cone is secured to an inlet or outlet trunnion and the larger diameter portion is secured to the cylindrical wall 30 of the drum, which may also be segmented. The trunnion 16 is driven by spaced pinions 14, and both trunnions 16, 18 support the mill in bearings on pedestals 20. Feed is via a chute 32.
