Abstract
1314880 Double-deck vehicle transporter wagons SOC NOUVELLE DES ATELIERS DE VENISSIEUX 10 July 1970 [11 July 1969] 33609/70 Headings B7B and B7L A double-deck vehicle transporter wagon comprises an upper deck formed by half-decks 10 pivotable about longitudinal axes 8, 9 between a raised inoperative position, shown in chain lines in Fig. 2, and a horizontal operative position, each half-deck 10 comprising a frame 13 with an opening 16 therein for receiving flaps 17, 18 pivotable about transverse axes 19, 20 on the underside of the frame. Leaf springs 24 normally urge flaps 17, 18 into an inoperative position just below the frame, shown in chain liners in Fig. 5, but the flaps can be lowered by the weight of a car into the position shown in full lines in Fig. 5, the flaps having means preventing them being forced downwardly past the lowered position, the means comprising a pin 21 on one flap 17 which engages a slot 23 in a bracket 22 attached to the other flap 18.
