Abstract

1313615 Accumulators HITACHI Ltd 21 July 1970 [23 July 1969J 35323/70 Heading F1D An accumulator installation for absorbing pressure pulsations from a pump, comprises a pressure vessel 21 having a cavity A defined therein by a cap member 25 at one end and a perforated metal screen 29 at the other end, a bladder 23 being confined within the cavity A. If dL is the length of the neck between the screen 29 and a conduit 20 leading to the pump da the diameter of the neck, and dp the diameter of the conduit 20, then da/dp #0À5 and dL/dp #0À5. Instead of screen 29 confining bladder 23 in cavity A, the bladder may have a rigid plate attached to its bottom, the plate being engageable with a seat in the pressure vessel which defines the end of the neck portion Fig. 7, (not shown).
