Abstract
1313588 Battery-powered cameras AGFAGEVAERT AG 25 June 1970 [27 June 1969] 30863/70 Heading G2A A camera having an electrically powered element has a battery compartment formed as a sliding drawer 7, which can be opened to insert the battery 11 therein, and which when closed causes the battery terminals to come into contact with terminals inside the camera leading to the said element. In the form shown, the electrically powered element is exposure control means, and the circuit is set out on a printed circuit board 3. This has a U-shaped aperture 4 which can accommodate the drawer-like component 7. Drawer 7 has a circular opening into which fits the battery 11. On the upper and lower faces of board 3 are mounted spring contacts such as 12, 14. (Only the upper one is visible in Fig.1). When drawer 7 is pushed fully home, the spring contacts press against the two poles of the battery, which is thus connected into the circuitry. The board 3 also carries a setting disc 25 which can be adjusted from outside the camera. A slider 28 on the disc can make contact with one of a number of resistances 29-34 which is connected into the exposure control circuit, and corresponds to a particular flash setting, the appropriate guide number being visible through a window. A pin 37 on disc 25 can engage with an extension 38 on drawer 7, so that continued rotation of disc 25 will push the drawer out of the camera.
