Abstract

1313139 Wax polishers DOW CORNING Ltd 21 Sept 1970 [26 June 1969] 32226/69 Heading C5W [Also in Division C3] A wax polishing composition comprises 0À2 to 10% by weight of a polydiorgano-siloxane of the unit general formula R n SiO (4-n)/2 in which the average value of n is 1À9 to 2À1 and from 0À5- 25% of the total R substituents are organic radicals attached to the Si atoms by Si-C linkages and having at least one epoxy group, the remaining R substituents being monovalent hydrocarbon radicals. Specific examples of polish compositions in parts by weight are (1) oarnauba wax: 2 or 3; oxidized microcrystalline wax: 3, 2; epoxy-containing silicone: 2,2; polydimethylsiloxane: 2,3; emulsifier: 2, 1À25; petroleum distillate: 16, 30; water: 68, 53À75; aluminium hydrate: 5, 5; (2) oxidized microcrystalline wax: 2; epoxy-silicone: 2; polydimethylsiloxane : 2; petroleum distillate: 30; oleic acid: 5; morpholine: 2; diatomaceous earth: 10; water: 47; (3) as in composition (2) except that aluminium hydrate replaced the diatomaceous earth, and epoxy silicone replaced polydimethylsiloxane.
