1313092 Cyanohydroxypyridones CASSELLA FARBWERKE MAINKUR AG 4 Dec 1969 [7 Dec 1968] 59304/69 Heading C2C [Also in Division C4] 1 - Methyl - 3 - cyano - 4 - methyl - 6 - hydroxy- 2-pyridone is prepared by condensing methyl acetoacetate with N-methyl-cyanoacetamide. 1 - Phenyl - 3 - cyano - 4 - methyl - 6 - hydroxy- 2-pyridone is prepared by condensing methyl cyanoacetate with acetoacetanilide or methyl acetoacetate with cyanoacetanilide. 1 - (31 - Methoxy - propyl) - 3 - cyano - 4- methyl - 6 - hydroxy - 2 - pyridone is prepared by condensing methyl acetoacetate with cyanoacetic acid (3<SP>1</SP>-methoxypropylamide).
