1312752 Treated carbon black REPROGRAPHIC MATERIALS Inc 12 Jan 1971 [12 Jan 1970 14 Dec 1970] 28761/72 Divided out of 1312751 Heading C1A [Also in Division G2] Agglomerated carbon black particles produced as described in the parent are coated with resin by spray drying. At least 80% of the agglomerated particles have a particle size of 5-25 microns and an average particle size of 10-20 microns. The agglomerated particles may form 30-67% of the resulting electrophotographic toner particles. The resin may be polyester, phenol-formaldehyde, or a blend of polystyrene and butyl methacrylate polymer. Spray drying may be from a solution or aqueous dispersion of the resin.
