Abstract

1311822 Removing chocolate products from moulds G CARLE 4 June 1971 [20 June 1970 23 Feb 1971] 19056/71 Heading B5A [Also in Division B8] Apparatus for transferring pieces of chocolate in moulds S upon a conveyer T A to packages C on a conveyer T B comprises a pair of transfer mechanisms 1a 1b each comprising a series of suction heads 5 mounted on a box 6 which is mounted at its centre of gravity to a shaft 8. The shaft 8 is slidable along a shaft 12 pivotable about an axis 13 and is secured to an arm 9 pivotable about an axis 11 and having a sector plate in mesh with the sector plate of the other transfer mechanism, such that on rotation of the plates the suction heads are caused to rotate through 90 degrees from a position over the respective conveyers to a position facing each other whereupon articles removed from the conveyer T A by the transfer mechanism 1a can be transferred to transfer mechanism 1b, which after a return movement through 90 degrees deposits the articles on the conveyer T B . The movement of the transfer mechanisms is preferably synchronized with the movement of the conveyers. In a further embodiment Fig. 7a, 8b (not shown) the suction heads (5) are each mounted on a block (u) drilled to be slidably mounted at the junction of two sets of rods (s) (t) whereby on relative movement of the rods the spacing of the heads can be adjusted.
