Abstract

1311141 Resistors CTS CORP 3 March 1970 [3 March 1969] 10245/70 Heading HIS [Also in Division C1] A resistance composition comprises at least 2À0% by weight electrically conductive crystals (e.g. Ir, Ru, IrO 2 or RuO 2 ) capable of growth at an elevated temperature, at least 1À5% of an agent controlling such growth (e.g. Al 2 O 3 or Barium Ferrite), and a vitreous binder which provides a molten environment for the crystal growth. The controlling agent may comprise inert particles of average size less than 10Á, and the conductive particles may be of size 40-80Á. The vitreous binder may be of composition, in weight per cent PbO 65, SiO 2 34 and Al 2 O 3 l; or PbO 72À15, SiO 2 13À41, B 2 O 3 9À04 and ZnO 5À40. The resistance composition may be fired on to an insulating substrate at above 850‹ C. for at least 45 minutes.
