Abstract

1310446 Photographic copying apparatus GAF CORP 21 Dec 1970 [31 Dec 1969] 60670/70 Heading G2A Photo-copying apparatus includes a main drive roller 1, which advances multiple belts 2 carrying master M and copy C materials towards a rotating transparent printing cylinder 3, and an auxiliary drive roller 5, which draws the belts from the cylinder 3 and is driven at a speed effectively greater than that of the main drive roller 1, thus taking up any slack 4 tending to form in the belts as they move round the cylinder 3 through the exposure zone 10. The surface 8 of roller 5 has a coefficient of friction less than that of the surface 9 of the main drive roller 1 so that the roller 5 continuously slips against the adjacent surface of the belts 2. The speed of roller 5 may be adjusted by means 6a associated with drive means 6.
