1310422 Stationary phase for chromatography BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODAFABRIK AG 10 July 1970 [12 July 1969] 33594/70 Heading B1X [Also in Division Cl] A carbon having a residual halogen content <500 ppm, and preferably <20 ppm, obtained by the dehydrohalogenation of such polymers as polyvinyl or polyvinylidene chloride (see Division C1) is used alone or with other suitable materials as a stationary phase in thin layer, column or gas chromatography. In examples, using a carbon obtained from polyvinylidene chloride and helium as carrier gas, mixtures comprising (a) H 2 , N 2 , CO, CO 2 , CH 4 , C 2 H 4 , C 2 H 2 and C 2 H 6 ; (b) methanol, ethanol and propanol; (c) water, methanol and formaldehyde; and (d) C 2 H 2 , C 2 H 4 and C 2 H 6 were resolved.
