Abstract

1310298 Sheet forming H G MOLLER 17 Nov 1970 [13 Dec 1969] 54676/70 Heading B5A A vacuum mould for drawing a thermoplastics panel 10 to form, e.g. a portion of a bathroom with integrally moulded sanitary fittings, comprises a rigid box-shaped master mould 11, and supplementary formers 12, 13, 14 to form zones or the panel into the shapes of the fittings, the formers being interchangeably located in the master mould so that different arrangements can be provided. In Fig. 1 the former 13 shapes a wash-basin with 12 the base below it, and the former 14 shapes a strip to stiffen the thermoplastics wall of the bathroom. The master mould 11 has an external-steel wall 15, and an internal aluminium wall 16, which together define a vacuum chamber 17 having ports 20 connecting with the interior of the mould. Each individual former can have its own vacuum connection (21), Fig. 2, not shown. Heating and cooling pipes 23 are located in the chamber 17. The formers can be made of metal, wood, or plastics.
