1310025 Pulse radar A C COSSOR Ltd 23 June 1971 [26 June 1970] 31196/70 Heading H4D A secondary radar ground station 1 adapted to determine the position of an answering aircraft 2 comprises means for adding to an interrogating signal transmitted to the aircraft a digital pulse code containing position information relating thereto. In the embodiment of a secondary system a processor 5 decodes aircraft identity code I and height code H, determines range R conventionally; and a computer 7 determines bearing #, tracks the aircraft (including controlling transmitter power), and converts R, # into eastings and northings transmitted as digital codes which, at aircraft 2, may be displayed digitally on number tubes 15, 16 and may control motors 17, 18 driving cursors 19, 20 over a map 21.
