1309994 α - Isothiocyanate carboxylic acid esters; N,N - thiocarbonyldi - imidazole STAMICARBON NV 19 April 1971 [18 Feb 1970] 23566/71 Heading C2C Novel t-alkyl esters of α-isothiocyanate carboxylic acids of the formula wherein R 3 is a C 4-7 t-alkyl group, R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a residue of an amino acid and R 2 is a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted C 1-3 alkyl group, are prepared by reacting the corresponding amino acid esters with phosgene or with heterocyclic thiocarbonyl compounds. N,N - Thiocarbonyldi - imidazole may be obtained by reacting thiophosgene with imidazole.
