Abstract
1309975 Capacitors SIEMENS AG 24 June 1971 [28 July 1970] 29618/71 Heading H1M In the manufacture of a stacked or wound capacitor comprising thermoplastic dielectric foils 1 and metal electrode foils 2 and 3, foils 2 or turns of foil 2 of one polarity extending towards one end face of the capacitor body, and foil or foils 3 being offset towards the other end, lead wire 4 is electrically and mechanically attached by electrically heating it while applying it to an end face and pressing it into the melting dielectric to buckle the projecting edges of foil layers 2 without contacting displaced foil layers 3, the heating being continued until alloying occurs between the lead wire 4 and foil layers 2. The dielectric material may be polystyrene, the electrode material aluminium and the lead wire tinned copper.
