Abstract

1309844 Pipe coupling USS ENGS & CONSULTANTS Inc 18 May 1970 [16 May 1969] 24012/70 Addition to 1299104 Heading F2G In an improvement of the inlet construction of Specification 1,299,104, additional bellows 44, connected by rocker arms 48 to the plate 33, oppose the force applied to the plate 33 by the bellows 30 when contracted by the vacuum of the receiving vessel 12. This permits the spring 25 to move effectively ensure an airtight seal between the vessels 10, 12. As shown a plurality of bellows 44 are provided, all in communication with the vacuum of the vessel 12 and having a shield 49 having an inlet 50 for cooling air.
