Abstract

1309215 Water-softening apparatus KING- HOLLER INTERNATIONAL 7 Dec 1971 [7 Dec 1970] 56734/71 Heading C1C A water-softening apparatus comprises a fluid-tight case 11 having an ion exchange resin chamber 12 and a regenerant (e.g. NaCl) chamber 20 provided with a removable closure cap 24, and a control unit 40 containing a threeway valve, whereby water from source 43 may be passed directly to a user or passed through hose 36, port 31, annular chamber 33, passages 26, chamber 20, chamber 12, plenum chamber 15, conduit 32, port 30 and hose 35 to a user. The regenerant may be packed in a material (e.g. cellulose) which disintegrates on contact with water or in a perforated cannister provided with disintegrable seals.
