1309014 Attaching sliders to fasteners WILLIAM PRYM-WERKE KG 18 March 1970 [19 March 1969] 13029/70 Heading E2S Apparatus for drawing sliders onto rows of interlocked sliding clasp fastener elements comprises a gripping device 10 which is movable in a longitudinal path 55 and has two jaws 12 and 13 which can clamp a portion of the slider, and a store 11 comprising separate tracks for storing rows of sliders of different types, each track having an outlet at one end; the store being movable transversely relative to the gripping device to permit alignment of a selected track with the gripping device for supplying a chosen slider to the jaws of the gripping device. The jaw 12 of the gripping device 10 is fixed to a slide 14 and pivotal movement of jaw 13 about pivot 16 is effected by the shaft 17 of a pneumatic cylinder 18. Movement of the slide 14 in rails 21 towards and away from the slider store 11 is controlled by pneumatic cylinder 23. The sliders are held in inclined rows by strip members of the store which engage grooves at each side of the sliders such that they are gravity fed to the ends 30 of each row. The store 11 has skids 46 and 47 by which it can slide transversely along rails 48 and 49 on the base 27 to be held in selective alignment with the gripping device by means of a spring-loaded ball 50. A stop 56 (not shown) on the fixed jaw 12 engages one end of the selected slider to position the slider and on closing jaw 13 a release spike 57 (not shown) withdraws the locking tooth of the slider. The sliders may alternatively be held in replaceable dispensing magazines in the store.
