Abstract
1308933 Photo-electric spark detector TALENTUM DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 20 Aug 1971 [22 Aug 1970] 40550/70 Heading G1A A flame or spark detector comprises an infrared photo-conductive cell such as of lead sulphide a first amplifier F.E.T. 3, an electrical filter f 1-4 , g 1-4 to eliminate any D.C. component, and frequencies above 50 Hz, a second amplifier 7, 8 with maximum amplification up to 10 Hz and a substantial cut-off at 20 Hz, voltage dipper h, a diode-pump integrator 12, and a bi-stable trigger 13 for operating warning or fire control means, the dipping means integrating means and trigger being arranged such that the triggering voltage is not reached if the frequency of the signal input to the integrator is less that 3 Hz. Circuit parameters are examplified and mains smoothing and stabilizing arrangements are described. A tube including printed circuitry in which the cell is mounted in a bore is described and its application to monitoring air removed textile waste is referred to. The circuit may include means to flash a lamp 20 in proximity to the cell for test purposes.
