Abstract
1308089 Pulse radar RAYTHEON CO 11 Oct 1971 [23 Nov 1970] 47288/71 Heading H4D In an arrangement for improving the ratio of a desired signal S D of input carrier frequency F 1 to an undesired signal S U of input carrier frequency F 2 , the combined signal is fed to a pulse modulator from which signal S D has all its energy substantially within a predetermined frequency band FB and signal S U has a carrier frequency outside band FB and part of its sidebands within band FB; 'the pulse modulator output is fed to a filter which significantly attenuates outside band FB and whereby signal S U has a transient portion and a steady-state portion; and the filter output is applied to a switch, actuated synchronously with the pulse modulator, whereby the signals during the steady-state portion are fed to utilization means. In the embodiment signals S D , S U are from moving and stationary targets respectively in a coherent pulse Doppler radar and the pulse modulator is a range gate. It may be applied to F.M.C.W. radars.
