1307390 Benzodioxanes WARD BLENKINSOP & CO Ltd 13 Sept 1971 [24 Sept 1970] 45671/70 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I) (including salts thereof): where R is H,F, Cl, Br, C 1-6 alkyl or C 1-6 alkoxy, R<SP>1</SP> is a C 1-8 saturated aliphatic group and n is 2 to 6, are made by interacting (II) and z.(CH 2 ) n .SO 2 R<SP>1</SP>, where one of X and Z is halogen and the other is NH 2 , or by treating compounds (IV) with hydrogen peroxide and acid. Pharmaceutical preparations exhibiting muscle relaxant, sedative and tranquillizing activities contain (I) as active ingredient. Administration may be orally, subcutaneously or intraperitoneally.
