Abstract

1307326 Fuel dispensing apparatus TOKICO Ltd 19 April 1971 [23 March 1970] 24960/71 Heading A4T [Also in Division F2] An overhead travelling fuel dispenser comprises two spaced supports carrying cross-beams 11a, 11b in tracks of which run wheels 14a, 14b supporting projecting beam 13 carrying rigid fuel conduit 29 leading from flowmeter 27 and register 32 carried on beam 13 to a reel 33 carrying a hose and nozzle 30, 31, the hose being lowered to grasping reach by pneumatic motor 34 supplied by pipe 42 and controlled by a switch at 45. The air pipe 23 and electric cable 24 are led up a central column 21 to reels 38, 39 carried by beam 13 while petrol from tank 25 is fed up pipe 22 leading to a set of rigid, inter-communicating pivotally connected tubes 26 leading to the flowmeter. A switch at 45 actuates a motor and chain to move beam 13 one side or the other of central column 21, the cable and air hose unreeling and the tubes 26 unfolding. On pulling nozzle 31 down against spring loading, a switch actuates the fuel pump, although this may be actuated by a switch at 45 or by a nozzle switch. On releasing the nozzle, the spring lifts it to grasping height and switches off the pump, the hose then being retracted on to reel 33 by motor 34 or switch 45. The air hose reel may be replaced by a folding set of tubes as at 26.
