Abstract

1306937 Coils for dynamo-electric machines PLESSEY CO Ltd 29 May 1970 [24 June 1969] 31728/69 Heading H2A A rotor comprises a hollow cylindrical former 1 carrying a continuous toroidally wound winding wherein successive turns of the winding are equiangularly spaced around the former, the spacing being determined by the number of poles of the machine. The winding shown comprises a plurality of sets of equiangularly spaced turns such as 3, 4, 5, 6, successive sets being juxtaposed to form a single layer winding covering the former. The winding is secured to the former, which may be of fibreglass, by an epoxy resin adhesive. A portion of the winding surface is cleared of conductor insulation to serve as a commutator.
