Abstract

1306816 Radio signalling ROBERT BOSCH ELEKTRONIK GmbH 23 March 1970 [21 March 1969] 13871/70 Heading H4L A selective call transmitter for radio-telephones in which an oscillator has two tuned circuits at different audio frequencies alternately switched into operation to provide a two-tone calling signal, comprises a counter circuit operative to disable the switch after a predetermined number of transmitted calling signals. As shown operation of call button 11 applies a signal to bi-stable circuit 17 to enable over 15 an astable multivibrator 19 and to switch an audio oscillator 6. The audio signal comprises two tones, the first being determined by tap 9 of inductor 7 when 23 is conductive, and the second tone by tap 10 when multivibrator 19 switches to make 24 conductive; 19 then switches back and 16 is switched off to disable 19 and 6, and a two state counter 25 is advanced to 1 whereby after a delay determined by 29 a signal over 31 repeats the operation, advancing 25 to 0. Thus only two two-tone signals are transmitted, with an interval determined by 29. Modifications enabling up to five signals to be generated are described and illustrated.
