Overlap joints with packing at base of socket.-In a pipe-joint for high-pres sure gas-treating apparatus described in Specifications 120,546, 124,759, an( 124,760, [both in Class 1 (i), Chemical processes &c.] 124,761, and 124,762, [Class 1 (i), Chemical processes &c.], the pipes 76 are screwed to receive flange 81 which are bolted together. The annula projection 78 on one pipe compresses a copper gasket 80 within a socket formed in the other pipe.
