Abstract

1306081 Fluoroalkanes CHEMIEWERK NUNCHRITZ VEB 18 May 1970 17 Feb 1969 8517/69 Heading C2C [Also in Division B1] Fluoroalkenes are prepared by the dehydrohalogenizing pyrolysis of fluoroalkanes in a segment reactor as shown in Fig. 3 in which the reaction mixture flows along each chamber consecutively. The pyrolysis may be carried out at 500-1100‹ C., 500-1100 mm. Hg, with a mean residence time in the reactor for the gases of 0À05-10 seconds. The fluoroalkanes must contain at least one H atom and may contain other halogens. The reactor may be constructed of or lined with catalyst and be heated by resistance or induction heating.
