Abstract
1306023 Therapeutic electrical appliances E HOLLAND 22 Oct 1971 [20 March 1971] 7505/71 Heading A5R An electrical therapeutic appliance comprises a container having a central recess housing, a piezo disc 4 adapted to be energised by pressure exerted on the container while in contact with a part of the body. The container which is constructed from thin mild steel, comprises a dish-like member 1 having notches (2), Fig. 1 (not shown), provided in its rim and a plate 3 dimensioned to fit within the rim. The portions 7 of the rim between the notches are bent inwardly to secure the plate 3, and a coating 8 of plastics material is spread over the rim to provide a smooth exterior. One side of the container may be insulated. The piezo disc 4, e.g. piezo zirconium titanium alloy, a rubber ring 5, and a piece of wire gauze 6 are interposed between the member 1 and plate 3.
