1305578 Flame-proofing polymers M & T CHEMICALS Inc 2 Nov 1970 [4 Nov 1969] 51946/70 Heading C3P A composition for flame-proofing polymers comprises a mixture of a thermally unstable chlorine-containing material and a combination of 70-90% of an antimony oxide with 10-30% of sodium, potassium or magnesium antimonate and optionally magnesium oxide. The chlorinecontaining material is PVC or a chlorinated wax and forms at least 1% of the polymer composition. In the examples antimony oxide, antimonates and optionally magnesium oxide are added to plasticized and stabilized PVC.
