1305090 Vehicle axles HAMWORTHY ENG Ltd 17 Nov 1971 [6 Oct 1970] 47416/70 Heading B7H In a vehicle axle assembly an hydraulic driving motor and an axle have generally parallel axes and spur reduction gearing is arranged to transmit the drive from the motor to the axle. In a preferred embodiment an hydraulic motor 8 drives differential 11 through spur reduction gearing 10, 12. The half shafts 13 through spur gears 14, 15 drive the wheel shafts 16. A transmission brake (9), Fig. 1 (not shown) may be fitted to the housing 7 to act on the transmission gearing therein. The assembly is particularly adapted to fork lift trucks.
