1302785 Detecting neutrons AGFAGEVAERT AG 11 Nov 1970 [14 Nov 1969] 53577/70 Heading G6P [Also in Division C1] A silver halide monocrystal for detecting the tracks of ionizing particles contains cadmium and up to 100 p.p.m. lead as doping agents. Preferred ranges of dopants are 100-5000 p.p.m. Cd and 5-20 p.p.m. Pb. The preferred halide is the chloride. The detector may be prepared by adding solutions of cadmium chloride and lead chloride to pulverulent silver chloride, drying, melting, and cooling the mixture to produce a polycrystalline platelet which is rendered monocrystalline by a melting process.
