Abstract

1302219 Electronic watches SUWA SEIKOSHA K K 24 Sept 1970 [25 Sept 1969] 45601/70 Heading G3T In a battery powered electronic watch comprising a stepping motor having a six-pole permanent magnet rotor 7 (Fig.2) and a drive coil energized by pulses derived from a crystal stabilized oscillator via a frequency divider, and a pinion 15 fixed coaxially on the rotor shaft engaging a seconds wheel 8 to drive a seconds hand, there is provided a switch having a contact 9A on a member 9 and a contact 11A on a lever 11, which contacts engage and prevent energizing pulses to the motor on withdrawal outwardly of a setting control stem 13, the stem rotating lever 11 about its pivot 12. After the switch closes, further movement of the stem and of lever 11 causes a portion 11B thereof to disengage from an adjustment lever 10 whereupon a leaf spring 10D rotates lever 10 clockwise about its pivot 16. Thereby the lever 10 is caused to engage and rotate a three limbed cam 14 fixed on the rotor shaft, so adjusting the angular position of the rotor. When the stem 13 is pushed inwardly it causes firstly disengagement of the lever 10 from the cam and then opens the switch to permit energization of the motor drive coil. The seconds hand may be set to a desired time by repeatedly moving the stem 13 inwards and outwards by the required number of seconds.
