Abstract
1301872 Fluidic modules BAILEY METER CO 5 Jan 1970 [24 March 1969] 443/70 Heading G4P A fluid circuit module comprises a stack of plates, Fig. 4, various of the plates having passages forming fluidic elements and interconnecting ducts which define a fluidic circuit. As described, the module comprises a base-plate 28 having passages for fluid inlet and outlet whose ends 48 communicate with ducts in a mounting plate to which the base-plate 28 is secured. The other ends of the passages are connected via apertures in plate 34 and sealing plate 70 with ducts in plate 80 which determine the way in which fluidic elements in plate 150 are interconnected. The fluidic elements are vented to atmosphere via apertures 122, 124 in plate 110 and notches 41 in plate 100. The plates are clamped to base-plate 28 by bolt 37, the apertures through which the bolt passes being of sufficient size that power fluid can flow through them to the fluidic elements' power jet nozzle. Each fluidic element, Fig. 5, operates as a NOR gate and has a power jet-forming passage 202. In the absence of control signals at inputs 216a, 216b or 220a, 220b the laminar jet passes to outlet 208. When a control signal is present the jet becomes turbulent and attaches to wall 222 or 226 to exit at 224 or 228.
