1301423 Dioxolanes and dioxanes MONSANTO CO 19 April 1971 [24 Feb 1970 7 Dec 1970] 22352/71 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises compounds of the formula where n is 0 or 1, Ra, Rb, Rc, Rd, Re and Rf are H or alkyl of 1-5 carbon atoms and R 1 and R 2 are alkyl. The compounds are prepared by reacting together compounds of the formula R 2 -CH 2 -CH=C(R 1 )-CHO and in the presence of an acidic catalyst while removing water formed during the reaction.
