Abstract
1301074 Organic silanes and siloxanes containing sulphate groups; dyeing compositions TH GOLDSCHMIDT AG 5 May 1971 13363/71 Headings C3S and C3T [Also in Division D1] Dyeing liquors contain as levelling agent an anionic organosilicon compound. Suitable compounds are those of the formula wherein X<SP>+</SP> is an alkali metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium ion, R<SP>5</SP> is -CH 3 , -C 2 H 5 , or -OSi(CH 3 ) 3 , R<SP>6</SP> is -CH 3 , -C 2 H 5 , or -OR<SP>7</SP>, and R<SP>7</SP> is a C 1-7 alkyl or -Si(CH 3 ) 3 radical. In Examples 1-6 liquors are used containing compounds of Formula II wherein R<SP>5</SP> is -CH 3 or -OSi(CH 3 ) 3 , X<SP>+</SP> is Na<SP>+</SP>, triethanolammonium, isopropylammonium, or imidazolonium ion. These are prepared by reaction of a compound of unit formula or first with (CH 3 ) 3 SiOSi(CH 3 ) 3 , then with a solution of slurry of the amine or NaHCO 3 in ethanol or methanol, at room temperature. In Examples 7-9 the liquor contains a polysiloxane of Formula IV wherein R<SP>6</SP> is -CH 3 , R<SP>7</SP> is -C 2 H 5 , X<SP>+</SP> is imidazolonium ion, and the indices are 30À8 and 3À8. This is obtained by reaction of the compound of unit formula first with [(CH 3 ) 2 SiO] 4 , then with imidazole and ethanol, at room temperature. The liquors also contain the dyestuffs, an ethoxylated alkyl phenol or castor oil, and optionally sodium acetate/acetic acid, Na 2 SO 4 , (NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 , or NaCl.
