Abstract

1300909 Ionisation gas detectors NITTAN CO Ltd 9 Nov 1971 [19 Nov 1970] 51955/71 Heading G1N In an ionisation smoke detector of the type having an open and a closed ionisation chamber 20, 10 and a FET 4 connected to the junction of the two chambers, a plurality of forwardly biased diodes 31, 32, 33 etc are arranged in the sourcedrain path of the F. E. T., whereby the sensitivity of the detector may be controlled by a wiper 9 and contacts 41, 42 &c. connected to respective diode junctions. Once selected, the wiper may be fixedly attached to the selected contact. The diodes may be Zener diodes and they may be formed as an integrated circuit unit 30.
