Abstract
1300756 Washing machines BRITISH DOMESTIC APPLIANCES Ltd 29 Sept 1970 [29 Sept 1969] 47715/69 Heading DIA A detergent dispenser, for a non-automatic washing machine, is disposed above the normal water level of the machine and comprises a channel section bottom portion sloping downwardly from a water inlet 14 at one end to an outlet 15 at the other end and a detergent container 12 with open ends, the lower end being spaced from the bottom of the dispenser. In the twin-tub machine shown a pump 16 circulates water through a filter 18; a conduit 19 and a valve 20 to the inlet 14, water from the inlet 14 dissolving and emptying any detergent from the bottom of the container 12 into the tub 2. The valve 20 includes a flap 22 which is normally closed by the pressure of the circulating water but which is opened by insertion of a tube 24 which closes off the pipe to the inlet 14 and connects the conduit 19 to a train. An inlet 21 is provided for hose-filling the tub from a tap.
