Abstract

1299598 Cooling and drying resin extrusions HYGROTHERM ENG Ltd 23 Oct 1970 [26 July 1969] 37671/69 Heading B5A A plurality of resin rods 4 are downwardly extruded from nozzles 10 of a polymerization reaction vessel 3, on to an endless moving wire mesh belt 5 on which they are cooled by contact with a downwardly directed spray 7 of water, or chilled air. The rods pass over a support 9 on to a further similar belt 6 where a downward jet or blast of preferably hot air from a blower 8, removes surface moisture, of which any remainder is removed by passage through a low temperature air drying oven, prior to passage to a breaking and bagging machine.
