Abstract

1299294 Fluid operated reciprocating motors ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 13 Feb 1970 [15 Feb 1969] 7016/70 Headings F1A and F1M A fluid operated reciprocating motor comprises a non-magnetizable cylinder 1 in which slides a piston 3 having an iron core 6 to which permanent or electro-magnets 17 are attracted at the ends of each stroke, the movement of the magnets being arranged to operate pilot valves 22 controlling the changeover of a main distributing valve 28. Each magnet 17 is mounted on a lever 15, which when pivoted, moves a pin 19 to cause a snapaction spring 21 to operate its pilot valve 22. Operation of say the right hand pilot valve 22 communicates fluid from a line 25 to a control port 34 of the main valve 28 whereby it moves to direct fluid to the right of piston 3 instead of the left. Alternative pilot valve constructions are described, Figs.2 and 3 (not shown). Brass or austenitic steel are specified for the cylinder.
