Abstract

1299141 Fuel dispensing apparatus TOKICO Ltd 19 April 1971 [21 Jan 1970 29 Dec 1970(2)] 20015/71 Heading A4T [Also in Divisions G4 and H1] Fuel supplying apparatus comprises a reservoir 10, a supply pipe 11 connected to a stop valve 20, a flowmeter 18 and a pump 16, a reel 14 for a hose 23 and a nozzle 24. A device 25, connected by a wire 27 to a display indicator 26a, so provided adjacent the nozzle 24 so that the amount of fuel required may be displayed on the indicator by operating a dial numbered 1-9, 0. When the nozzle valve is opened a signal emitter 19 supplies signals to an indicator 26b which displays the amount of fuel dispensed. When the two quantities displayed on the dials 26a, 26b are equal a signal is supplied, from circuitry associated with the indicators, to a solenoid 21 to close the valve 20. In a modification the dial is replaced by a coded card for entering the amount of fuel required in the indicator 26a. Instead of the quantity of fuel being pre-selected, the total amount of money to be spent may be pre-selected, in which case the circuitry associated with the indicators is fed with information relating to the price per unit volume of fuel and the valve 20 is closed when the pre-selected sum of money equals the total cost of the fuel dispersed.
