1298441 Shellfish cultivation SEASALTER & HAM OYSTER FISHERY Co Ltd 1 Jan 1970 51/70 Heading A1A A method of rearing bivalve molluscs comprises placing a receptacle comprising rigid barriers 12 and end members 13 to define an area of a bed of water compatible with said mollusc rearing. The clams are placed on the base 11 of the receptacle together with some silt, a net 14, or alternatively a foraminous sheet enclosing the receptacle, prevents animals from gaining access to the clams. The barriers 12 determine the build-up of silt of the bed which therefore does not reach the top portion of the net 14.
