1298036 Packaging; feeding closures; closing containers DUCKWORTH COLUNIO Ltd 29 Sept 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 46636/70 Headings B8C B8S and B8T A machine for applying foil caps or covers B to lines of containers C<SP>1</SP> comprises a shoot D which receives the caps B from a forming press A and is pivoted to swing across the lines to deposit caps in a cap applicator D<SP>2</SP> positioned above each line. While the bottom cap in an applicator D<SP>2</SP> is being held vertically in a slot in a holder plate it is engaged by a moving container and falls on top thereof. An adjustable plate presses the cap over the lip of the container. The caps may pass directly or along a conveyer from the press A to the shoot.
