Abstract
1298016 Optical brighteners for polyamides BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 24 April 1970 [26 April 1969] 19807/70 Heading C3R [Also in Division C2] 1,4 - Bis - (4<SP>1</SP>- carbamidostyryl) - benzene of formula is used for the optical brightening of polyamides in the melt. The polyamides may be obtained by polycondensation of dicarboxylic acids and diamines or #-aminocarboxylic acids and also by the polymerization of lactams. Lists of acids, amines and lactams are given. Examples are given of the use of the carbamido compound in the optical brightening of (a) polycaprolactam; (b) a polyamide prepared from hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid and (c) a polyamide prepared from #-caprolactam.
