Posts.-A concrete base for poles and posts comprises metal reinforcing- elements 1 the upper portions of which project above the base in the form of arches 2, to which the wooden post or pole P is secured by bolts 11 passing through the post and a pair of fillers 10 engaging in the arches. Stirrups 12 secured to the post are passed over the bolts so as to be secured between the fillers and washers 15. Bands 5, 6 are passed round the exposed portion of the base.
