Abstract

129,765. Wyld, W. Dec. 18, 1918. Column stills.-In apparatus for distilling and similarly treating ammoniacal or other liquors, comprising a number of troughs each having a serrated flange, over which the liquor flows, dipping into the next trough, while steam &c. pass up between the troughs, the flanges are made adjustable. In the arrangement shown, the troughs a, a<1>, a<11> are arranged in sets across a vertical shaft and are formed with turned-over lips to which the flanges d are attached by bolts passing through elongated slots in the flanges. The last trough a<11> of each set is provided with a fixed elongated flange l dipping into the first trough aof the next set.
